Life is just a bowl of cherries. That’s the first thing that comes to my mind. Cherries can be sweet and delicious, they can be sour or rotten, and if you’ve ever bit down on a cherry pit and broken or nearly broken a tooth, then life can be the pits. That’s all I got.

I am a person who rarely laughs out loud. I smile a lot, and inside I think many things are funny, but as far as laughing out loud….that just doesn’t happen very often for me. The first thing that popped into my mind was how many things in our lives are controlled by electricity and how much we take it for granted until we don't have it. I think of the people in Puerto Rico who still don't have electricity from Hurricane Irma last year! They have had to adapt to a whole new way to live their lives. I guess the first thing that comes to mind are rain showers, probably because we are into our rainy season and the showers come almost every day now. I love the rain, especially when I am tucked away inside the house. It sounds so soothing when it hits the skylight and the roof, especially at night.
